What is the purpose of IELTS test?

The purpose of IELTS test is to assess the reading, writing, listening and speaking ability of English language of a person who wants to study, work or migrate to an English speaking country.

How many skills are tested in the IELTS Test?

IELTS tests four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

How many times can I take my IELTS Test?

You can take it as many times as you want. There is no limit.

How long are my IELTS results valid?

Your IELTS test results are valid for 2 years.

What is the minimum score to past the test?

There is nothing as pass or fail in IELTS. Results are reported as band scores from 1 (the lowest) to 9 (the highest). Candidate need to score requisite band score required for the organization he is looking to work for or the institute where he is planning to study.

If I have appeared for IELTS test twice, which result can I use?

You can use the test in which you have scored highest as long as the result is still valid.

How is the IELTS score given?

IELTS uses an internationally recognized nine-band scoring system. You receive individual band scores for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. Also, an overall band score on a band scale from one to nine.

How long is the IELTS exam duration?

The duration of the IELTS exam is a total of 2 hours 45 minutes.
